Delta Air Lines made a significant announcement, revealing its plan to introduce daily nonstop flights to Tulum from Atlanta International Airport (ATL) commencing on March 28, 2024.
Adding to this development, Mexican carriers Aeroméxico and Viva Aerobus have unveiled their flight schedules to Tulum, starting in December 2023. Their offerings will encompass nonstop routes from major Mexican cities, including Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Tijuana, and Toluca.
This strategic move comes as the new Tulum International Airport is poised to open its doors. One of the key advantages of this airport is its location, which eliminates the need for the customary 90-minute road transfer from Cancún to Tulum.
According to Joe Esposito, Senior Vice President of Network Planning, “We know Tulum-bound customers will enjoy the elevated experience Delta consistently offers – and now without a two-hour drive from Cancún – as we grow our footprint in Mexico and throughout the Yucatán region.” The introduction of these new flight options is expected to revolutionize travel to Tulum and enhance the overall tourism experience in the Riviera Maya.
